EnOcean and Casambi

We would like to announce our collaboration together with EnOcean, the global leader in energy harvesting wireless technology.

EnOcean developed a battery-less Bluetooth Low Energy switch module with Near Field Communication (NFC) and therefore expands their energy-harvesting wireless solutions for the Internet of Things (IoT). The PTM 215B module enables product manufacturers to develop reliable self-powered switching-applications for BLE-based lighting systems (2.4 GHz) for worldwide usage in smart homes and modern light control.

We has integrated a support for the EnOcean Bluetooth Low Energy switches. The new EnOcean switches can be paired to a Casambi network and work seamlessly in a our wireless lighting control solution. With the support of NFC technology the commissioning is fast and simple. The EnOcean switches can control individual luminaires, groups of luminaires, all luminaires in a network, scenes and even animations in a Casambi lighting control solution.

These two industry leading technologies create a complete wireless solution with maximum flexibility in controls placement and usage. In Casambi's solution the EnOcean switches don't even have to be paired with a single receiving unit. Instead switches are paired with the whole Casambi network of devices, allowing EnOcean switches to be used as portable remote controllers over the whole area of a Casambi network. The control logic of the switches can also be easily changed on the fly with the intuitive Casambi end-user app available for iOS and Android devices."

Together with Casambi, EnOcean will be demonstrating wireless lighting control solutions using Bluetooth Low Energy at the booth of Nordic Semiconductor at the CES show in Las Vegas on January 6, 2017.
