Casambi is literally powered by its customers. Our Ecosystem Partners are lighting manufacturers across the world who embed Casambi technology into their luminaires, sensors, drivers, and switches. We collaborate closely with them to ensure that every Casambi-enabled product delivers the performance and reliability that lighting professionals and end users expect.
This partnership approach is what makes Casambi different. It’s not a closed, top-down system. Instead, it’s an open, thriving ecosystem of experts building products around a common wireless platform.
Why Radio Matters
All Casambi networks are wireless, and radio performance is the invisible force that makes them work. For a Casambi installation to perform flawlessly, the wireless signals must be strong, stable, and predictable—across diverse environments, building materials, and use cases.
As the number of Casambi products and partners grew, we began to see variability in wireless performance. While most partners were dedicated and diligent, not all products met the standards required for optimal radio reliability.
Raising the Bar on Radio Quality
To address this, the Ecosystem team launched a program—a comprehensive initiative offering free technical advice to Ecosystem Partners on how to design products with high-quality radio performance in mind.
But guidance alone wasn’t enough. We needed a way to measure outcomes. So we built a dedicated test lab in Finland where every new Casambi-enabled product from our partners is rigorously tested for radio quality. Our lab engineers evaluate the performance of each product and send back a detailed Radio Test Report.
Sometimes the product passes with flying colors. Sometimes it doesn’t. But in either case, the report gives manufacturers clear, actionable insights—whether it’s antenna placement, PCB layout, or shielding issues—that help them improve and iterate.
No Compromises
Since introducing this program, we’ve made one thing clear: no product is listed on the Casambi website unless it passes our radio quality standards. This policy has been in place for over two years and has significantly raised the bar for wireless reliability across the board.
The result? A stronger, more consistent user experience. Installers can work with confidence. End users get seamless, stable performance. And our partners have a clear, supportive pathway to making great wireless lighting products.
