Daylight sensors measure the amount of natural light entering through windows and automatically adjust electric lighting to maintain consistent illumination levels. In perimeter zones near windows, electric lights dim proportionally as daylight increases—reducing energy consumption while keeping workspaces properly lit. The system continuously adjusts throughout the day as sun angles change.
With Casambi’s wireless capability, you simply reconfigure zones through the app—no rewiring needed. Move a team from one side of the floor to another? Reassign which luminaires belong to their zone in software. Converting an open area to private offices? Create new lighting groups to match the new layout. Even with DALI installations using Salvador controllers, you can add wireless luminaires to accommodate changes without touching the wired infrastructure.
Yes. Casambi can integrate with BACnet, KNX, Modbus, and other BMS protocols through an optional gateway device. The integration works with both wireless and DALI Casambi installations. For simpler projects without BMS needs, the gateway is optional—the system functions fully without it.
Occupancy sensors automatically turn off lights when spaces are vacant for an adjustable period (typically 10-30 minutes). You can also set scheduled timers that dim or turn off lighting zones after business hours. Manual controls—whether wall switches or sensors—always take priority over schedules, so someone working late can still turn lights on as needed. The system balances automated energy savings with human override capability.
The Casambi App is for everyday control in small and mid-sized projects. It’s perfect for controlling scenes, adjusting individual luminaires, and setting up straightforward installations. Casambi Pro (Windows desktop and iPad) is designed for larger projects with repetitive functionality. It enables off-site configuration planning, template-based deployment for repetitive spaces, and managing multiple networks across buildings. Small offices typically need only the Casambi App; larger installations benefit from Pro’s advanced planning tools.
