Casambi Awards – Harrods Dining Hall takes the top prize
The 2021 Casambi Summit wrapped up the day with the Casambi Awards finalists and winner announcements. Over fifty entries were submitted from all over the world. The entries’ diversity and quality ensured a lively debate among the judges as to who should ultimately take the trophy.
Casambi Awards 2021 Winner
Lighting Design International won the prize with their project entry, Harrods Dining Hall, which was chosen for its atmospheric, multi-layered, and warm lighting scheme. The judges were particularly impressed with how the Casambi wireless control was used to bring the necessary multi-layered control without the need to install new wiring.

Casambi Awards finalists
Rounding up the top three finalists were Dr. George Fatseas and their entry, Linear Accelerators I + II, and the Al Doho Quarter renewal, designed by ALS. The judges chose Linear Accelerators I + II for its uniqueness (including a 3D light sculpture) and the dynamic color-changing scheme, which the staff could control for the patient’s needs. The Al Doho Quarter renewal was chosen for the project’s scale (900+ nodes and 7 gateways) and just the general technical aspect of realizing this kind of project within a historical setting.
