Located in Nanjing’s historic Gulou District, Conglong Restaurant occupies two Western-style buildings that together form a cohesive architectural ensemble. The vibrant identity of the Conglong brand harmonizes naturally with the century-old trees lining the surrounding streets, creating a seamless connection between the building and its historic context.
The design team employed spatial strategies to bridge the old and new buildings, crafting a lively and inviting dining environment. The design carefully integrates the tree-shaded outdoor ambiance with the historic wooden framework of the buildings. By maximizing spatial openness and thoughtfully manipulating light and shadow, the design enhances the sense of historical depth while creating a harmonious and comfortable atmosphere for visitors.
The Casambi Bluetooth Wireless Lighting system, combined with meticulously planned lighting design, allows soft, dynamic illumination to flow throughout the architecture. The lighting subtly highlights structural details, enhances the character of the buildings, and accentuates the refined contours of the space. Different lighting scenes can be adapted to suit the time of day, special events, or dining experiences, ensuring a flexible and immersive environment.
In this carefully orchestrated interplay of light and shadow, guests feel as though they are standing beneath a centuries-old tree. The ambiance allows them to enjoy exquisite cuisine while engaging with the historical narrative of the space, creating an experience that is both memorable and unique. The combination of architectural sensitivity, spatial planning, and intelligent lighting control transforms Conglong Restaurant into not only a dining destination but also an immersive cultural experience.
