At the MS Plus Lidcombe Wellbeing Centre, thoughtful lighting and accessible control help create a calm, supportive environment for people living with multiple sclerosis. Casambi wireless control and EnOcean switches make everyday interactions simple and intuitive, supporting greater comfort and independence throughout the accommodation spaces.

Designed to support people living with multiple sclerosis (MS), the MS Plus Lidcombe Wellbeing Centre was created as more than a healthcare facility. Every part of the space was planned to help people feel comfortable, supported, and at ease, while providing a practical environment for families, caregivers, researchers, and healthcare professionals.

Lighting plays a quiet but important role in that experience. Rather than drawing attention to itself, it helps create a calm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the centre, supporting everyday activities while contributing to a sense of comfort and dignity.

In the accommodation rooms, Casambi wireless control was used to make lighting simple and intuitive to use. Lighting and mechanical systems can be controlled through thoughtfully positioned EnOcean wall switches, designed with clear engraving to make everyday operation straightforward for both residents and staff. The switches also meet NDIS accessibility requirements, ensuring the controls are easy to reach and use for people with different mobility needs.

The wireless system also gave the project team greater flexibility during installation while keeping the interiors clean and uncluttered. As needs change over time, lighting scenes and controls can be updated without extensive rewiring, allowing the centre to adapt alongside the people who use it.

At the MS Plus Centre, technology is never the focus. Instead, it quietly supports the people within the space, making everyday interactions simpler while helping create an environment where comfort, independence, and care come first.
