Set along the waterfront at Sentosa Cove, this private residence uses light as a key design element, creating a calm and minimal interior that evolves naturally throughout the day. Integrated architectural lighting highlights materials and forms with subtle LED details, recessed niches, and concealed illumination that soften the space and enhance its warmth and depth. Supported by Casambi controls, the lighting transitions seamlessly between daily activities, fostering a balanced, comfortable atmosphere that feels open by day and intimate by night.
Perched along the waterfront at Sentosa Cove, this private residence is shaped by light as much as it is by architecture and view. The intention was to keep the interiors calm and minimal, while still allowing light to bring out warmth, depth, and atmosphere as the home moves through the day.
Inside, lighting is carefully integrated into the architecture rather than added onto it. High-gloss timber panels and a circular mirror are softly defined with linear LED details, highlighting material and form without overwhelming the space. Recessed vertical niches introduce a gentle amber rhythm that runs through the interiors, adding structure and a quiet sense of repetition.
Above, slatted ceilings conceal the functional lighting, allowing illumination to filter through in a soft, natural way. It takes the edge off the architecture and makes the space feel more relaxed and lived in. During the day, the home feels open and expansive, connected to its waterfront setting. In the evening, it naturally shifts into something warmer and more intimate, almost cocoon-like in its atmosphere.
Casambi sits quietly within this framework, allowing the lighting to respond easily to different moments of use. Scenes transition smoothly between hosting, unwinding, or everyday movement through the home. The control remains simple and unobtrusive, supporting the rhythm of living without drawing attention to itself.
In the end, the lighting is not something that defines the space. It simply helps the home feel balanced and comfortable, at any time of day.
