AIR Circular Campus and Cooking Club (AIR CCCC), designed by OMA, transforms a 1970s clubhouse into a hospitality and learning venue centered on Awareness, Impact, and Responsibility, reconnecting people with food, nature, and community through a seamless blend of outdoor campus and refined interiors. A smart lighting system powered by Casambi controls DGA luminaires across 44 wireless nodes, using automated scenes that adapt to daylight and activities to balance comfort, atmosphere, and energy efficiency while preserving the building’s character through minimal construction. Inspired by harmony with nature, minimalist lighting guides visitors, supports functional areas with brighter light, and creates warm, intimate dining environments, demonstrating how intelligent lighting can enhance sustainability, human experience, and spatial connection.

AIR Circular Campus and Cooking Club (AIR CCCC) is more than a restaurant. It is a space built around Awareness, Impact, and Responsibility. Designed by OMA, the project transforms a 1970s clubhouse into a venue that reconnects people with their food, the environment, and each other. The architecture blends lush outdoor spaces with a refined interior, creating a seamless journey from the garden campus by day to an intimate dining experience by night.

Lighting plays a key role in shaping this experience. Casambi powers a fully automated system across 44 nodes controlling DGA luminaires, allowing the venue to respond naturally to daylight, operable facades, and daily activities. Scenes such as Day, Evening, and Late Night adjust brightness and atmosphere automatically, balancing energy efficiency with comfort and human experience. Even after hours, Cleaning and Night scenes ensure the building uses minimal energy while staying ready for the next function.

The lighting design was inspired by the idea of light in harmony with nature. Minimalist fixtures enhance the architecture and surrounding greenery without competing for attention. From the 100-meter outdoor walkway to the dining areas, lighting guides visitors through the venue, creating warmth, intimacy, and focus. Functional areas like the Cooking Club and research spaces receive brighter light for practical use, while dining areas glow softly in the evening to support connection and calm.

Casambi’s wireless Bluetooth mesh made all this possible with minimal construction. No additional wiring was needed, reducing material use and preserving the building’s original character. Sensors and pre-set scenes ensure lighting adapts automatically, while manual control remains available if needed. Guests enjoy a seamless environment where every moment feels intentional and perfectly lit.

AIR CCCC demonstrates how smart lighting can do more than illuminate a space. With Casambi, the venue feels intuitive, sustainable, and alive. Every detail of the lighting supports the mission, making the environment feel human-centered, connected, and deeply in tune with nature.
