Café Kissa and Djournal Bar bring a contemporary Japanese bistro concept to Jakarta, combining refined design, natural materials, and signature lantern features to create an inviting and intimate space. Warm, layered lighting enhances textures and highlights key areas, building a cozy atmosphere that evolves from bright mornings to relaxed evenings. With Casambi-controlled automation and flexible scene settings, the lighting seamlessly adapts to different moods and functions, enriching the overall guest experience.
Café Kissa and Djournal Bar bring a contemporary Japanese bistro concept to Jakarta, blending culinary craft with an intimate, thoughtfully designed space. The interior features clean lines, natural materials, and a row of integrated lanterns that adds both charm and subtle visual rhythm. The café is designed to feel approachable yet refined, creating an inviting backdrop for casual dining, coffee moments, or evening drinks.
Lighting at Café Kissa is an essential part of the experience. Warm, ambient illumination enhances the textures of timber, furniture, and décor, while accent lighting highlights seating areas, counters, and the signature lantern installation. The goal was to create a cozy, layered atmosphere that complements the design without overwhelming it. Every light contributes to a sense of intimacy and comfort, inviting guests to linger and engage with the space.
Casambi’s Bluetooth system provides effortless, flexible control over the café’s lighting. Time-based scene automation allows the ambiance to evolve naturally from bright, lively mornings to soft, relaxed evenings, while preset scenes can be triggered for events, promotions, or private bookings. Staff can manage multiple zones individually or collectively, ensuring that lighting always matches the mood and function of the space without manual intervention.
The combination of intuitive Casambi control, thoughtful fixture placement, and layered illumination creates a café where light feels deliberate and alive.
