Ki-Sho, led by Head Chef Taro Takayama, is a kappo-style omakase restaurant along Scotts Road, housed in a colonial-style black-and-white house. The restaurant’s name, meaning “aristocratic craftsmanship,” reflects the precision and care behind each dish. With only counter seating and a sake area, the space emphasizes intimacy, connection, and the art of Japanese fine dining.

The interior embraces a minimalist aesthetic, allowing the culinary experience to take center stage. Lighting plays a crucial role in shaping the atmosphere, accentuating the natural textures of wood, stone, and lacquer while guiding guests’ attention to each carefully plated course. The lighting supports the natural rhythm of the dining experience, creating a calm, focused environment that complements the chefs’ craft.

With Casambi’s wireless system, the restaurant controls every nuance through the Casambi App. Different scenes support different stages of the meal:

Plating-focused scenes tighten the beam onto the dish, enhancing color, detail, and the character of each ingredient while keeping the surroundings soft.

Ambience scenes dim the dining area and gently lift light around the kitchen counter, highlighting the craftsmanship at work.

Service transitions shift gradually throughout the evening – brighter during early preparations, then easing into a more contemplative glow as the night progresses.

Each scene supports the philosophy behind Ki-Sho: deliberate change, seasonal expression, and the idea that no two meals should ever feel the same. Through Casambi, lighting becomes part of the narrative – subtle, precise, and perfectly in sync with the flow of omakase dining.
