Sushi Mashi

Sushi Mashi brings the calm discipline of a Japanese garden into a contemporary Indonesian setting. The architecture, materials, and plating all share the same intent: nothing is accidental, nothing is excessive. The space feels composed, quiet, and precise and the lighting is designed to support exactly that.

Rather than acting as a visual feature, lighting at Sushi Mashi works in the background, shaping the experience without calling attention to itself. It follows the rhythm of the day and the structure of omakase dining, allowing guests to stay focused on the craft, the counter, and the moment.

This is made possible through Casambi’s lighting control solution, which forms the backbone of the restaurant’s atmosphere. A combination of multi-protocol dimming, daylight harvesting, and automated transitions allows the space to adapt naturally as conditions change. During lunch service, daylight harvesting continuously adjusts interior light levels in response to natural light, maintaining a balanced, comfortable environment without visual fluctuation.

As afternoon turns to evening, time-based automation gradually shifts the lighting from bright, open tones to warmer, more concentrated scenes. The transition is slow and almost imperceptible, avoiding sudden changes and preserving the calm pace of the dining experience. Multi-zone scene control gives staff precise yet effortless command over the space; from accentuating the sushi counter and chef’s movements to softly outlining architectural lines or lowering the overall mood for evening service.

The result is a lighting environment that feels intuitive and responsive. Nothing needs to be adjusted manually, yet everything can be. The system supports different services, guest flows, and moments within the meal, all while remaining invisible to the diner.

At Sushi Mashi, lighting doesn’t compete with the experience, it refines it. With Casambi, the restaurant becomes a space where light follows craft, timing, and intention, reinforcing the sense of focus and calm that defines the dining journey.
