KEIGAN (Kaijian) is a contemporary urban womenswear brand originating from Shanghai, distinguished by its architectural aesthetic DNA and cross-disciplinary design approach. This year, KEIGAN partnered with architecture studio Chaos Programme to unveil its first Shanghai flagship store, MAISON KEIGAN 1490, located within a century-old historic building on Nanjing West Road.

The design concept centers on the symbiosis between “carved white houses” and architectural aesthetics. Light and shadow function as an invisible structural framework within the space, echoing the brand’s philosophy of “architecture as the skeleton, minimalism as the soul.” The lighting design supports the transformation of the store into a narrative medium for fashion and lifestyle expression, achieving a refined balance between functionality and material texture.

For this project, the Casambi Bluetooth wireless intelligent lighting control system was implemented to enhance visual merchandising and optimize display performance. Flexible scene switching enables the space to adapt seamlessly to different exhibition and retail requirements. The lighting approach is guided by three core principles: highlighting architectural structure, restoring material texture, and creating a relaxed, effortless atmosphere. These principles align closely with KEIGAN’s brand vision, reinforcing a cohesive and immersive spatial experience.
