Brookfield’s Mumbai office is designed for people, productivity, and sustainability, with spaces that balance focus, relaxation, and wellbeing, and has achieved Gold LEED certification. Casambi’s intelligent lighting system integrates all fixtures wirelessly, automatically adjusting brightness based on daylight and occupancy, making the environment comfortable and effortless for staff. The robust Bluetooth mesh network is flexible, energy-efficient, and easy to maintain, enhancing the human-centric design while helping Brookfield move toward Platinum LEED certification.
Brookfield’s Mumbai office was designed around people, productivity, and sustainability. The spaces encourage both focus and relaxation. Breakout zones invite staff to pause and recharge, while workstations and conference rooms are designed to keep comfort and wellbeing at the centre of every day. The office has already achieved Gold Standard LEED certification, and with Casambi’s intelligent lighting controls, Brookfield is now aiming for Platinum Standard.
Lighting plays a key role in shaping the experience. Casambi integrates all fixtures into one seamless wireless system, allowing lights to respond naturally to people and daylight. Daylight sensors along workstations adjust brightness automatically to maintain optimal light levels, while occupancy sensors in meeting rooms detect presence and adjust lights accordingly. Two sensors in each room ensure that light levels match the number of people present, whether it is a small meeting or a full room of people. Staff no longer need to constantly switch lights on or off, and manual controls remain available if needed.
The system is robust and flexible. Each luminaire communicates with its neighbours in a Bluetooth mesh network, ensuring there is no single point of failure. Scenes can be reconfigured on the go, and brightness levels can be tuned as needed, making the system easy to use and maintain. This wireless automation also eliminates hundreds of metres of cabling, reducing installation impact and contributing to energy and material savings.
The Brookfield office demonstrates how lighting can be human-centric, sustainable, and effortless. With Casambi, the space feels intuitive, comfortable, and adaptable. Staff can focus on work, visitors enjoy well-lit environments, and energy savings happen naturally. The client has been so pleased with the outcome that sensor coverage will be expanded across more areas, bringing the office even closer to Platinum LEED certification.
