How R U? by Pomme Chan transforms light into part of the artistic experience. Presented at Lamptitude Curve in Bangkok, the exhibition uses carefully curated lighting and Casambi wireless control to reveal changing textures, colours, and perspectives, inviting visitors to slow down and experience each artwork in a new way.

Presented at Lamptitude Curve in Bangkok, How R U? is a solo exhibition by Thai artist Pomme Chan that explores the many layers of human emotion through material, colour, and light. Rather than following a single artistic style, the exhibition brings together acrylics, oils, oil pastels, and hand-ground natural stone pigments, allowing each work to express a different emotional state in its own way.

Light becomes part of the experience from the moment visitors enter the gallery. Developed in collaboration with Lamptitude and lighting curator Ou Sakulthai, the lighting was designed to become part of the story rather than simply illuminate the artworks. As visitors move through the space, subtle changes in light reveal different textures, colours, and details, encouraging each artwork to be experienced from a new perspective.

The natural stone pigments make this especially noticeable. Their surfaces catch and reflect light in different ways throughout the gallery, bringing out subtle shifts in texture and depth. There is no single way to experience the exhibition. Like emotion itself, each encounter changes depending on where you stand, how you look, and the light that falls across the work.

Casambi wireless control provides the flexibility to shape these lighting scenes with precision. Different areas of the gallery can be adjusted easily, allowing the lighting to complement the artworks while maintaining a calm and immersive atmosphere throughout the exhibition.

Rather than drawing attention to itself, the lighting quietly supports the dialogue between the artwork and the viewer. It becomes another layer of the exhibition, reinforcing the idea that our understanding of both art and emotion is always shaped by perspective.

At How R U?, light is more than a way to reveal the artwork. It becomes part of the experience itself, inviting visitors to slow down, look again, and discover something different with every perspective.
