The Moooi Shanghai Flagship Store is conceived as an immersive showroom where lighting defines the atmosphere and presents each piece as both functional and sculptural. A diverse range of statement luminaires requires flexible, precise control, achieved through Casambi’s wireless system, which enables easy scene setting, grouping, and individual fixture adjustment. By combining expressive design with intuitive technology, the space uses light to shape emotion, enhance product storytelling, and create a memorable brand experience.
The Moooi Shanghai Flagship Store is designed as an immersive brand experience where lighting plays a central role in shaping atmosphere and storytelling. Rather than a conventional retail space, the showroom presents Moooi’s iconic lighting collections within a carefully curated interior that allows each piece to be experienced as both functional light and sculptural object.
The space features a wide variety of statement luminaires, including large suspension pieces and decorative installations displayed across multiple zones. With such a diverse lighting layout, flexible and precise control is essential to support daily operation, scene setting, and product presentation.
To support this expressive lighting environment, Casambi wireless control is integrated throughout the showroom. Casambi provides an intuitive control layer that allows every fixture to be addressed individually or grouped into zones, making it easy to fine-tune light levels, highlight key pieces, and adapt the mood of the space throughout the day.
Using the Casambi app, showroom staff can instantly switch between scenes, from bright and welcoming daytime settings to more intimate and dramatic evening atmospheres. Grouped controls allow entire areas, such as dining displays or suspension clusters, to transition seamlessly with a single touch, while individual control enables precise highlighting of materials, textures, and design details.
Casambi-enabled switches and remotes add a tactile layer of control within the space, allowing staff and designers to interact directly with the lighting without relying solely on mobile devices. This combination of app-based and physical control makes the system accessible, flexible, and well suited to a fast-paced retail environment.
