Westwood Shenzhen is a flagship Western grill where premium food, refined atmosphere, and a strong sense of identity come together to create a complete sensory dining experience. Its dramatic architecture, with full-height glazing and skylights, transforms from bright and open by day to intimate and atmospheric by night, with lighting carefully designed to enhance every moment without overpowering the space. Powered by Casambi scene-based controls, the lighting adapts effortlessly throughout the day, improving ambience, operational flexibility, and energy efficiency.
Westwood Shenzhen is a flagship dining destination where food, atmosphere, and experience are brought together with a strong sense of identity and craft. As a refined Western grill concept, the restaurant focuses on premium ingredients, slow-roasted techniques, and an elevated dining culture that turns each visit into a complete sensory experience rather than just a meal.
The space itself plays a central role in this experience. With full-height glazing on multiple sides and a skylight above, natural light becomes part of the interior during the day, shifting the mood as the sun moves across the space. By night, the restaurant transforms completely, opening up views of the city skyline and creating a more intimate, atmospheric setting for dining and drinks.
Lighting was designed to support these changing conditions and enhance the feeling of comfort, warmth, and visual focus. Rather than overpowering the architecture, the lighting highlights key moments in the space, dining tables, textures, and architectural features, while allowing the overall environment to remain calm and refined. The intention was to create an atmosphere that feels elevated but still relaxed, where guests can settle in and enjoy the experience.
Casambi was selected as the control system to manage these shifting moods in a simple and flexible way. With scene-based control, the restaurant can move easily between daytime, dinner, and late-evening settings. Each scene is carefully tuned to balance brightness and contrast, ensuring the space always feels appropriate for both dining and social moments.
The system also allows the team to operate the lighting intuitively, without technical complexity. Scenes can be adjusted quickly, dimming levels refined, and atmospheres updated as needed. This flexibility is especially important in a space where natural light changes dramatically throughout the day.
From an operational point of view, the ability to run lower light levels during peak dining hours also supports energy efficiency and reduces long-term maintenance demands, helping the venue operate more sustainably while maintaining a high-quality guest experience.
