Club Soda is a speakeasy-style bar by the Locavore hospitality group that blends a cocktail bar, small distillery, yakitori grill, and vinyl listening culture into one atmospheric space. Inspired by converted warehouses, the interior combines raw industrial finishes with warm lighting and personal details that shift naturally from relaxed daytime energy to intimate late-night intensity. With Casambi wireless control working quietly in the background, the lighting adapts seamlessly throughout the day, supporting the mood and rhythm of the bar without ever feeling overdesigned.

Club Soda is a speakeasy-style bar created for the Locavore hospitality group, with its roots in Canggu, Bali, and a second location later brought to Jakarta. Developed with Agency X and refined through close collaboration during design and fit-out, the space brings together a bar, small distillery, yakitori grill, and vinyl listening culture into a compact, high-energy environment.

The idea behind the space was never about formality. It is more about feeling. The interior draws from converted warehouse references, mixing raw industrial finishes with mid-century furniture and small, personal details that make the space feel lived in rather than designed. It is the kind of place that changes character as the day moves on, calm and open earlier in the day, then deeper and more atmospheric as night takes over.

At the centre of it all is the long bar counter. It naturally becomes the focus of the room, both socially and visually. Lighting was used to support this without making it feel staged. A soft pink glow sits behind glass blocks at the bar, while warm white light wraps the surrounding areas so the space still feels comfortable and welcoming. The contrast is subtle, but it gives the bar its own presence without overwhelming the room.

Behind the bar, 114 glass jars line the shelving, each filled with local ingredients from Bali and beyond. Small integrated lights bring these jars to life, not in a dramatic way, but in a way that makes you notice them as you move through the space. Over time, they become part of the atmosphere, almost like a quiet backdrop that changes how the room feels at different moments.

Casambi wireless control helps tie everything together in a very simple way. It allows the team to shift the mood of the space without thinking about technical systems. During the day, the lighting stays open and relaxed. At night, it gradually drops into a lower, more intimate level that suits the music, the drinks, and the pace of the evening. Everything feels smooth and unforced.

In the end, Club Soda is not about lighting as a feature. It is about atmosphere. The lighting just helps the space feel the way it should, supporting the energy of the bar and letting it naturally move between moments of ease, focus, and late-night intensity.
