The Glowz Lighting & Automation Experience Center in Kolkata, founded by Shashwat Kedia, is a 5,000-square-foot space designed to showcase how light, emotion, and control can transform environments. Using the Casambi ecosystem, the center demonstrates layered, dynamic lighting across diverse fixtures and settings, highlighting usability, flexibility, and immersive experiences for architects, designers, and clients. Beyond technology, it serves as a learning hub promoting sustainable, adaptable, and future-ready lighting solutions that turn illumination into a fully engaging experience.
The Glowz Lighting and Automation Experience Center in Kolkata is a space born from a long-standing passion for light and how it shapes human experience. Founded by Shashwat Kedia, Glowz began its journey with a simple goal to transform spaces through LED lighting. Over time, that vision evolved from illuminating spaces to creating environments where light, control, and emotion work together seamlessly.
Spanning 5,000 square feet, the experience center is purpose-built to showcase the full Casambi ecosystem in a hands-on, immersive way. Layers of different lighting types illuminate artefacts, walls, and furniture, creating multiple aesthetics within the same space. Carefully designed optics and varying illumination levels add memorable drama, demonstrating how lighting can shape mood, perception, and functionality. The center also presents Casambi as a brand to local architects and interior designers, highlighting usability, control options, and ease of operation to encourage adoption in their projects.
Lighting Design
The space is designed as a cinematic journey through light. Every zone demonstrates a different aspect of illumination, from color temperature and dimming to color rendering, scenes, and movement. Motorized lighting, dynamic stretch ceilings, optical fibres, and layered light sources showcase how lighting can be functional, emotional, and transformative. Automation is seamless, making the light feel alive, responsive, and intuitive.
Lighting Control
Casambi is the backbone of the center, offering complete flexibility and effortless control. PWM4 modules manage tunable white, dimming, and low-voltage profiles without the need for DALI controllers, enabling easy reconfiguration and integration of new luminaires. The system controls downlights, track systems, LED strips and profiles, stretch ceilings, optical fibres, outdoor luminaires, and decorative and architectural lighting from brands like Formalighting and Arkoslight, all through a single, intuitive platform.
Sustainability and Learning
The wireless Casambi system reduces cabling and material use, supporting a sustainable approach to lighting design. Beyond technology, the center serves as a learning hub for architects, designers, students, and clients, building confidence in wireless automation and demonstrating how thoughtful lighting can create efficient, adaptable, and future-ready spaces.
