This high-end residential offers a smart take on lighting sea views, proving Casambi’s rightful place in the Smart Home.
Upon purchase completion, the new owner sought to redefine modern living with his new luxury apartment. This demanded a lighting design in the common areas of the residence that would not detract from the divine sea views, but apex them.
With no ability to visit the site prior to installation, little room in the ceilings, and major constraints related to the location of existing power supplies, Casambi was specified to deliver illumination fit for this purpose.
Low-glare fixtures light the space without drawing attention away from the sea vistas. The small, discrete nature of the Casambi modules allowed for work within the hard ceiling limitations over the dining area and living room.
In the kitchen, recessed magnetic track was used in two separately controlled runs. One section of track had alternating downlights and baffled linear optics while the other had pendant stem modules aligned over the bar stools. To complement the view, a curved linear fixture was used to follow the radius of the windows.
Over the living room, a baffled linear fixture with a bevel regress was used. Owing to the absence of a junction box in the middle of the room, a custom end cap was used to pull power from the drop ceiling and allowed the fixture to extend into the room.
‘The client is tech-savvy and enjoys being able to control the lights via an app. Together, we pre-set various scenes such as “Cooking”, “Cocktail Hour” and “Relaxing”. I have received great feedback on the project from the client and others, many stated that they don’t typically see these types of fixtures used in residential projects. Said Alessa Aguayo, Director of Specification Sales, Coronet LED.
‘Casambi is a great technology in general, but it is especially perfect for remodeling or renovation projects. It can certainly be used for residential, not just commercial projects.’
